just a dream…or was it?

the name and concept of this blog came from a dream…a few short days after my hubby and i returned from our amazing honeymoon, i wasnt feeling well at all. in the middle of cleaning the house after eight days away i started to feel dizzy and a tad nauseous, and when greg noticed he told me to go lay down for a while. i was hesitant because i did not want to leave him to clean all alone but eventually i went into our bedroom and dozed off…

in the very short time i napped {about 20 minutes} i had the most unbelievable dream about the most unbelievable man…my grandfather! i was very young when he passed in a car accident, about two years old, and do not remember much except that he had the most infectious smile that is forever etched in my memory.

in my dream, my grandfather randomly approached me in the street as a stranger would, leaned over and whispered in my ear “dreaming of leaving” and started to walk away…i knew who he was in my dream, and immediately ran after him to ask what he meant and this is what he said: “you like to write and you are a whiz on the computer so do something with it and while you are at it, name it dreaming of leaving” and disappeared into the crowd…

i have never in my life had such a vivid dream – as soon as i woke up i jumped on the computer and checked to see if dreamingofleaving.com was available, sure as shit IT WAS and you bet your ass i bought the URL right then and there.

i dont know where this journey will take me {if anywhere} but i know when my grandfather told you to do something in real life you did it with no questions asked…why would a dream be any different?! so here i am, three months later and a blog under my belt – something i never thought i could do, but obviously my grandfather knew better 🙂

I so believe that those who meant something to us, even if we aren’t aware of it, will show us the right path. So glad you listened!

Huh. I had such a problem choosing the url and the name for mine, it’s interesting what prompts others to choose what they have.
